This component aims at supporting the Chinese government to enact and implement essential laws, regulations and non-legislative measures that serve to foster the development of Information Society in China. This component focuses on the design of a regulatory framework in three priority areas:

Within these three areas, the project provides support in the implementation of existing laws such as the Electronic Signature law as well as the drafting of new laws and regulations on Telecommunications, Personal Data Protection, Access to Government Information, Information Security, Electronic Contract, Online Copyright and other related issues.
All initiatives are designed to maintain a high-level dialogue between China and the EU, to support the Chinese decision-making process in a practical way and to foster the development of a market-oriented and transparent regulatory environment.
