The focus of this component are six e-government demonstration projects across China. Target groups include local informatisation offices and other government agencies charged with implementing the projects.
The demonstration projects include:
- Social services reform in Baotou
- Emergency health response systems in Chengdu
- Smart card for social services in Handan
- Public service system in Yangquan
- Integrated e-government platform in Yantai
- Digital Beilin in Xi'an
Please click on the map for more detailed information about each e-government project. The aim is to
replicate each demonstration project in other localities in China. Features of this component include:
- Introducing and adapting best practises from the EU into China;
- Benchmarking systems to track improvements in accessibility, efficiency, transparency and utilization, within each demonstration area, with other demo areas and other cities in China;
- Training officials on e-Government service provision and Information Society issues;
- Delivering more cost-effective and transparent government services to more end-user citizens (G2C) and the business community (G2B);
- Increased public awareness of e-government and Information Society in China;
- Compliance with national laws and regulations;
- Public-private partnerships (PPP's) formed.
